NIHR Participates in a Training Programme on Receiving and Following-up Complaints, Visiting Detention Places and Preparing Monitoring Reports

The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)’s Secretariat-General has participated in the training program organised by the Arab Network for National Human Rights Institutions (ANNHRI) in cooperation with the UN Training and Documentation Centre for South-West Asia and Arab Region in cooperation with the National Commission for Human Rights in Lebanon on “Receiving and Following-up Complaints, Visiting Detention Places and Preparing Monitoring Reports”, with the participation of a number of specialists and experts in the field of human rights and the competent bodies.

The training programme discussed a number of topics related to the basic principles of monitoring and documentation in the field of human rights, collecting and verifying information, methods of receiving and following-up complaints and types of complaints.

The participants were also trained on the mechanism for monitoring trials and managing justice affairs, and the best practices for monitoring trial hearings.  The programme discussed the best practices for court oversight and presented the best experiences of national human rights institutions in this field.
